Completed research project

Title / Titel Self-navigation cardiac Magnetic Resonance Imaging
PDF Abstract (PDF, 14 KB)
Summary / Zusammenfassung In conventional cardiac Magnetic Resonance imaging, a range of measures is necessary to compensate for cardiac and respiratory bulk motion. This not only prolongs measurement times but also complicates the measurement setup and compromises patient comfort. This project concerns the development of total self-navigation approaches making it unnecessary to gate the measurement based on external information such as the electrocardiogram and other physiological data. Instead the measurement is controlled solely on sampled data themselves promising improved efficiency, enhanced robustness and greatly simplified patient setup. Together with clinical partners, the methods are validated in patients with different cardiac diseases.
