| Summary / Zusammenfassung | Studies on the influence of the housing system on animal health in layer flocks are sparely published. This EU-wide survey will compare the different factors being responsible for animal health in different housing systems. Farm visits with elaborated questionnaires and laboratory testing of different samples from flocks (choanal& cloacal swabs, blood etc.) will allow to scrutinize factors responsible for good animal health. This project will use serological and molecular methods to monitor for infectious agents and statistics for links between animal health and housing system of poultry. |
