| Summary / Zusammenfassung | The Hermann Cohen Archive was founded at the Departement of Philosophy of the University of Zurich in 1969. Under the direction of Prof. Dr. Helmut Holzhey it has provided the institutional platform for the edition of Cohen's works. Hermann Cohen (1842-1918) was the founder of the 'Marburg School', one of the two mainstreams of Neo-Kantian philosophy. In his later years he became a leading representative of Liberal Judaism in Germany. Cohen's works are being reprinted in their latest version; textual variants of the previous editions are listed and new indices are added. Nine of the ten volumes have already been published. Together with the Moses Mendelssohn Center for European Jewish Studies at the University of Potsdam (Director: Prof. Dr. Julius H. Schoeps), the new edition of the shorter writings (6 volumes) has been in preparation since 1994. Volumes 5 and 6 (1913-1918) have been published. Weitere Informationen |
