|Title / Titel||Human Drugs Applied in Small Animal Medicine|
|Abstract (PDF, 14 KB)|
|Summary / Zusammenfassung||Objectives - Human drugs are widely used in small animal medicine since for many therapeutic indications, licensed veterinary drugs are not available. In order to improve drug safety and efficacy, a systematic literature survey was performed to obtain high quality information concerning the disposition, dose range, side effects and interactions of the 200 most commonly used human drugs in veterinary medicine. The data were critically evaluated, and incorporated into a system of interconnected databanks. The system can now be accessed on our web server. The system offers several browse and search options.
Significance - Increased drug safety in small animal medicine.
