Title / Titel Clinipharm/Clinitox
PDF Abstract (PDF, 14 KB)
Summary / Zusammenfassung Objectives - To establish a computer-supported decision support system for pharmacotherapy and clinical toxicology. Veterinary practitioners should be able to access this system around the clock via internet. The system now operates on our own web server and offers several levels of decision support, the most sophisticated one will be the option to simulate the outcome of any planned therapy with all possible complications, drug interactions and side effects. At present, the system comprises an intricate network of interconnected databanks covering all drugs registered on the swiss market. Other features include a poisonous plant databank, drug residue information and multiple links to relevant information sources.

Significance - This system allows to implement principles of rational drug therapy in daily practice. The system is very popular with practitioners, it has been accessed more than 7 Mio times during the last year.
