| Summary / Zusammenfassung | Transfers of legal norms from one place to another, from the past to the present, from one culture to another culture are very frequent in the history of law. Such transfers are ongoing until today. The project “Legal transfers” is concerned with three issues: 1) To develop a theoretical framework which allows to describe and to understand the process of transfers better than traditional models (such as the “reception of Roman law” or “legal transplants”) do. 2) To study cases of transfers from the Middle Ages until the early 20th century. 3) To analyse current processes of transfers, especially in the Eastern European regions. | ||||||
