| Summary / Zusammenfassung | The project aimed at exploring the situation of environmental education in Swiss teacher education institutions in the curriculum field of 'Man and Environment‘ and its didactics. A questionnaire was used for the survey, building on the previous questionnaire originally developed for teachers in the region of Basel. Teacher educators responsible for 'Man and Environment‘ in teacher education were asked for their subjective views of the nature of environmental problems as well as for priorities and effectiveness of environmental strategies and education. Institutional conditions and constraints were analyzed with respect to conceptual strategies in environmental education. Results are brought into current discussion about research, development and teaching and learning settings in future teacher education institutions. | ||
