Title / Titel Flt3-L enhances resistance in neonates
PDF Abstract (PDF, 14 KB)
Summary / Zusammenfassung Contents
Resistance of newborn mice to HSV-1 and Listeria monocytogenes is increased 100-fold by treatment with the hematopoietic growth factor Flt3L. The resistance is coupled to the presence of IFN type I and IL-12 – cytokines responsible for the defense against HSV-1 and Listeria monocytogenes, respec-tively.

Aims
We would like to better understand the effect of Flt3L to different cells and their potential to induce immunological stimulation.

Applications
We evaluate the possibility to use or induce Flt3L in neonatal animals to enhance the immune responses.
