Title / Titel Immunomodulatory functions of endothelin

Summary / Zusammenfassung Endothelin was originally discovered as a vasoconstrictor protein released from vascular endothelial cells. Subsequent studies have shown that this peptide is not only involved in vasomotion, but importantly contributes to cellular proliferation, endocrine function, inflammation, and carcinogenesis. We are currently investigating the contribution of endothelin to inflammatory and immunological responses in infectious diseases, chronic rejection, and related immune conditions.
