|Abstract (PDF, 14 KB)|
|Summary / Zusammenfassung||Dr. Carl Jung, the world reknown psychcologist, writes, "There isn't a day in my life that I haven't reflected on the profound impact the TIBETAN BOOK OF THE DEAD has had on my work an upon my daily life."
A mandala helps to understand buddhist teachings by visualizing written and oral transmissions. The multimedia project virtual mandala focuses on the Bardo mandala consisting of several parts, among them are:
1 a two-dimensional mandala transformed into a spacial enviroment,
2 the encounter of several deities within the mandala and
3 to provide a basic understanding of tibetan buddhism.
This project will result in a multilingual, interactive CD-ROM with worldwide distribution to people interested in eastern religion, students, believers and scientists. Furthermore the project´s intention is to help people in the West understand more of the spiritual way of thinking of the East.
