Summary / Zusammenfassung

We continued our research activity on gravitational microlensing towards M31. Following
our successful observational campaigns in 2006 - 2009, we (the PLAN collaboration:
Pixel Lensing ANdromeda) got also time in 2010 at the 1.5 m Loiano telescope at the
Osservatorio Astronomico di Bologna as well as at the 2 m HCT (Hymalayan Chandra
Telescope) telescope in India. The analysis of the data for the years 2007 - 2010 is still

Following our paper, appeared in 2009, on the possibility to detect extrasolar planets
in M31 through pixel-lensing observation, we reanalysed the POINT-AGAPE microlensing
event PA-99-N2, which shows an anomaly that according to our analysis could
be explained by a companion object of planetary mass orbiting the lens star. As first,
we tested the robustness of the binary lens conclusion for this light curve. Second, we
showed that for such long duration and bright microlensing events, the efficiency for finding
planetary-like deviations is strongly enhanced with respect to that evaluated for all
planetary detectable events, thus supporting further our previous conclusions.
