| Summary / Zusammenfassung | Vanadium (V) is a valuable resource, which is widely used in industries e.g. for the production of temperature resistant alloy and special steel and of particular relevance in atomic energy industry, air-craft construction and space technology. Natural V ores are often dispersed, with low V contents and accompanied with other elements. Therefore, V is usually the by-product of refining iron, uranium, phosphorus and other elements. The main objective of the project is to quantify the mobility of V in V enriched minerals, industrial wastes and soils. Goals include (i) the determination of V speciation and binding state in V containing minerals, industrial wastes and V contaminated soils; (ii) the quantification of impacts of microbial activities on V mobilization; and (iii) the optimization of the bioleaching efficiencies of V containing solids. | ||
