Summary / Zusammenfassung In this joint project of the RSL and the 3G groups of the GIUZ, airborne laserscanning is used for operational glacier monitoring. At Findelengletscher, close to Zermatt, this technology is used to check the traditional in-situ mass balance measruements and to further exploit its potential for the understanding of the winter accumulation and the spectral albedo distribution on glaciers.
