| Summary / Zusammenfassung | As part of an international collaboration which started in the early 1990s, scholars interested in variation in Global English have been collecting comparable corpora of varieties of English. In 2005, work on the Fiji English component begun. The written part of the corpus is almost complete and has been used for a PhD project. In the summer of 2010, data for the spoken component were collected in a field trip with students from the university of Zürich. The compilation process has profited from a close cooperation with other teams who are also currently compiling ICE corpora of contact varieties of English (ICE Bahamas, ICE Ghana, ICE Nigeria, ICE Sri Lanka, ICE Trinidad&Tobago, ICE Malta). | ||
