Summary / Zusammenfassung Monitoring-processes are the awareness and control of our action, perception and emotions in relation to internal goals. The aim of our study is to reveal the role of the 5-HT1A and 2A receptors in monitoring-processes and its association to key dimensions of altered states of consciousness. In a double-blind, placebo-controlled design we apply the mixed 5-HT2A/1A agonist psilocybin as well as the 5-HT2A antagonist Ketanserin and assess the spatio-temporal dynamics of monitoring-processess by means of high-density electrical mapping and source-analysis of electroencephalograph (EEG) recordings.
