Title / Titel Reinforcement learning in cocaine addiction

Summary / Zusammenfassung Given the important role of dopamine in pathophysiology of addiction and recent findings of decrement of brain reward system sensitivity after long-term drug exposure, we suggest that cocaine addiction is associated with disturbances in the natural reinforcement learning. In different probabilistic learning tasks we assess the modulation of the electrophysiological correlate of reinforcement learning, the error-related negativity (ERN) and the feedback-related negativity (FRN), as a function of feedback validity, feedback valence and time in cocaine addicts and healthy controls.
