Title / Titel Gravitational microlensing towards M31

Summary / Zusammenfassung We continued our research activity on gravitational microlensing as a tool for the detection of the dark component of galactic halos in form of MACHOs (Massive Astrophysical Compact Halo Objects) in particular in M31. Following our pilot observational campaign in 2006 towards M31 using the 1.5 m Loiano telescope at the Osservatorio Astronomico di Bologna, we (the PLAN collaboration: Pixel Lensing ANdromeda) got new observing time at the same telescope in fall 2007. The analysis of the data is currently under way. The preliminary results indicate that we found some new microlensing candidate events. The collaboration got again observing time ( 2 months) in fall 2008. We are also studying the possibility of detecting extrasolar planets in M31 through high cadence pixel-lensing observations.
