Original title / Originaltitel Aufarbeitung der Textiliensammlung der Guna in Panama
Summary / Zusammenfassung Research on the EMZ collection of textiles, collected between 1950 and 2015, as well as on further Guna objects from the collection of the Museum der Kulturen Basel: woodcarvings and basketry collected by Arthur Hurni 1935 and Adolf Richard Herrmann 1963.
The preparation of an exhibition and a publication about these collections takes place in cooperation with Dr. Margherita Margiotti and Dr. Paolo Fortis (University of Durham). Their recent research allows new insights into Guna ways of creating objects and thinking through things.

The project was interrupted due to the retirement of the project leader. The exhibition project was transmitted to the following America curator.
In November 2015 the exhibition "Mola: Crafting Beauty and Layering the World in Panama" opened at the Ethnographic Museum at the University of Zurich.
