Summary / Zusammenfassung	In a qualitative interview study we examine the perception of autonomy of patients with diabetes (type II). Our goal is to explore whether the self-understanding of the patients as self-determing persons has changed in the course of their disease. Also it is of interest to our research whether the perception of the body has altered due to constant personal observation for bodily symptoms and administration of drugs.
